About this plant

Several root vegetables, such as carrots, beets, and potatoes, can be successfully grown in containers. They should be planted in a soil mix that is high in organic matter and amended with compost or aged manure.

Root vegetables need plenty of water but should not stand in waterlogged soil. Fertilize them every two weeks with diluted liquid fertilizer.
