Membership is about joining together...
To advance a global movement takes
Give us a hand as a
donor or volunteer and you're a member of greenmuseum.org.
It's that simple. Join us and
together we can support the emergence of a more sustainable culture.
greenmuseum.org is proud to be the leading resource for cutting-edge environmental
art and information. Since 2001, we have presented previously unavailable information as
an offering to literally millions of people around the world, around
unique visitors per day. We do not charge anyone to visit. We do this because
we feel it is vitally important to share this work and these ideas with others.
We are drawn to the idea of art as service to the Earth more than art as a
should reflect that.
We believe that in times of ecological crisis, "art has a job to do" and
it's important to give back to the systems which sustain us. greenmuseum.org
run along a "gift-economy" model
inspired by the work of Charity
Focus. We are 100% volunteer-run and offer
this content to the world for "free". Although
we do have expenses, we no longer actively solicit funds or apply for grants
our efforts entirely on our mission. We find that when we offer a valuable
service, generous people and partner organization respond to ensure
that we can continue to offer this content and pay the very low operating expenses
we need to meet to stay online. We have a minimal ecological footprint as
there is no physical museum infrastructure
to maintain, so it's an efficient way to support this movement.
