Henrik Håkansson, A Thousand Leaves, 2000, Helsinki, Finland

Håkansson dug a 90-foot trench adjacent to a beach and planted a temporary meadow in soil mixed with beach sand. Flat-screen monitors suspended on the fence enclosing the meadow displayed images of insects and growing thrifts captured by pen-size cameras. Part of it still exists thanks to those who still care for it.
