, 1998 - present
Constructed entirely of used freeway material and native California grasses, a 2 acre median in Oakland, CA. A symbol
of positive urban regeneration on new found but degraded open space where an earthquake in 1989 caused the freeway to
collapse. The project involved a unique multicultural group collaboration of West Oakland residents and community groups.
