Some of the most popular scrap toys are those which reflect the global "high tech" products which children are increasingly exposed to in villages as well as cities throughout the world--radios, cars, bicycles, trucks, trains, airplanes, cameras, spaceships, "boom boxes" and computers. These are the products children see in advertisements, stores, on television, and in the movies. the film medium itself is an object of universal fascination. This miniature projector--designed to actually project images on a screen-- is representative of a type found throughout Asia and Africa.
