Assane Faye is a recycling innovator who claims to have been the first to make European-style briefcases from recycled materials. The doors of his workshop near the Sandaga market are a patchwork of recycled materials loosely nailed, tied, and leaned together. Mr. Faye says, "It is our duty to collect little things, and try to make something out of them....That is how it works."
