The residents of the Pickerington Elementary community discovered thatthe wonders of the abundant and diverse life systems on the land upon whichthey live are truly magnificent. Their restoration began in a most creativeway--all art driven, or at least driven by the desire to reflect upon discoverythrough imagery and written composition. This observation and reverencefor the earth involves self-discovery and reaction. Reflecting upon thebeauty that surrounds us and communicating with others the value and thenecessity of preserving that which we hold precious makes art an elementaltool for persuasion, inspiring others to also cherish and protect theinspirationfor the work.
Our students' art work and written work has been, and continues to be, exceptional. Our students are able to communicate the goals, illustrate the processes, and critique the products of the various projects without prompting by the staff. They are poised in their presentation and are confidently experimenting with materials, generating ideas, and developing communication systems that will last them a lifetime.
