Photoessays: Art and the Earth



Patricia Stuhr is Associate Professor and Graduate Studies Chair in Art Education at The Ohio State University. She received a B.S. in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, an M.S.T. in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with an Art Education major and minors in Anthropology and Painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has published numerous papers in such journals as Studies in Art Education, Journal of Multicultural and Cross-cultural Research in Art Education, Art Education, Arts and Learning Research, and Social Caucus Theory. Her major research interests include the anthropological investigation of Contemporary Wisconsin Indian artists and art, cultural maintenance and change. This research has influenced her approach to implementing sociocultural and environmental elements within the art education curriculum, work for which she has received several grants and awards.
